In February 2024, the tragic massacre in Wapenamanda, Papua New Guinea, has ignited
outrage among local leaders and communities. This incident, rooted in ongoing tribal
conflicts, highlights the urgent need for effective conflict resolution and peace-building
measures in the region.
The leaders have expressed their anger over the barbarity of such violence, calling for
immediate action to address the root causes of these conflicts and protect innocent lives.
